I am a 20 year off and on relapsing bulimic for whom the 12 steps and therapy were no longer working. I had always focused on the symptoms of my suffering (binging and purging) and itwasn’t working. When I found the work of Dr. Amy Johnson, I knew I was onto something. I started to see the errors in how I saw the world and took my thinking seriously and how I had tried to manage and control every aspect of life and my body. I would have these awesome insights, but the programming and patterns we’re so old I found it really hard to make real change.

Enter Lexi. Working with Lexi one on one was the catalyst in my long-term recovery. When I was still believing my thoughts and taking action on them like I couldn’t have a snack or I had to binge after work, I would text her and she would help me to see the fallacy of my thinking. She taught me to deal with my hunger in the moment, instead of trying to think about it four hours out. It seems so funny now that that was my instinct. She taught me to make friends with snacking. I learned to stop managing and controlling every aspect of my food and body and learn to trust the wisdom of my body, which is basically the antithesis of all eating disorders! It has been such a remarkably powerful change. On a deeper level, she has helped me moment to moment with the experiences that all feelings are safe, and that you can only deal with anything in real time.

For me, Lexi was the difference between understanding all of these principles, intellectually and learning to practice them experientially. She is a wise, authentic, tell you like it is force of nature. If you are ready for a real change in your life, she is your girl.
